ServSafe Food Safety Certification Class set

ALAMOSA — A ServSafe® Food Safety Certification Class will be held in Alamosa on Saturday, April 14.

ServSafe® is a nationally recognized training program which is the standard in the commercial food service industry. This course is for food service business owners, managers or those interested in a career in commercial food service management or who wish to gain a clear understanding of the importance of food safety and risk management when preparing foods for sale to the public. 

Topics include: food borne illness risks and prevention; cross contamination; personnel management; HACCP; food preparation techniques; purchasing, receiving and storage; documentation methods; and facility maintenance.

The course costs $140 and includes an eight-hour interactive classroom instruction and a proctored certification exam. Participants are required to have a 7th edition ServSafe text book for study.  Participants earn a 5 year ServSafe® Certification upon successful completion of the proctored exam.     For further information contact Carol at FOOD SYSTEMS [email protected] .  Registration deadline is April 1.  Class size is limited.
