Shirley Jean Lentz

Longtime Monte Vista resident Shirley Jean Lentz passed away November 5, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Shirley's life began on March 1, 1932 in Alamosa, Colorado, the second daughter of Pete and Peggy (Clark) Isaacson.  She married the love of her life Harold Herbert Lentz on October 23, 1949 in Taos, New Mexico.  They enjoyed almost 71 years of marriage together.
Shirley was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monte Vista, as well as a member of the Rebecca Lodge.  Shirley was also an avid piano player.
Shirley worked in the Mosca High School cafeteria as a cook, while also driving the school bus.  Later she worked for the Social Services office in Del Norte, Colorado till she retired at age 70.
Shirley and Harold enjoyed many years, camping and jeeping in the Colorado mountains.  They also enjoyed dancing and playing Pinnacle and Bridge with family and friends.  They just believed in living life to it's fullest.
Shirley is survived by her loving daughter Sharon (Lentz) Phillips of Muskogee, Oklahoma, her grandchildren Duane Garrett and Virginia Lentz, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Duane Lentz, her daughter Diane Lentz, and her sister Claire Morgan.
Cremation was chosen.  Graveside of Ashes at San Luis Valley Cemetery will be held at a later date.
