DEL NORTE— A benefit dinner will be held for lifelong Del Norte resident Monica Silva on Friday, March 8 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the annex building in Del Norte. Cost is $10/person or $25/family. Silva was diagnosed with cancer in late 2018. Shortly thereafter she traveled to Denver to have the tumor removed. Silva is currently undergoing chemotherapy in Alamosa. With the cost of the medicine and everything associated with her fight against cancer, the money raised will help her pay the bills that are piling up.
