Sipnefski sentenced to three years

ALAMOSA—Aaron Sipnefski was sentenced to three years in prison on Thursday in the 12th Judicial District Court.

Sipnefski pled guilty to two counts of vehicular eluding from two separate incidents that occurred in March and August of 2018. Sipnefski also previously admitted to driving under the influence of drugs.

District Judge Michael Gonzales made it clear in his remarks that Sipnefski had endangered the community with his behavior as he had been driving through a residential neighborhood. Both sides expressed gratitude that no one had been injured or killed in the incidents. Judge Gonzales also made it clear that Sipnefski had acted without regard for the safety of himself and others.

There was also concern from Judge Gonzales and the state regarding Sipnefski’s prior felony history.

The judge also conveyed to Sipnefski that he was going to have to make the choice for sobriety on his own. Sipnefski was then remanded back to the custody of the sheriff and will be given credit for time served.
