MONTE VISTA —It’s’ one week away from the 98th SLV Ski Hi Stampede, in Monte Vista.  Evelyn Sprouse Rowe has been busy keeping alive an old tradition with Stampede window art. 

She said she could remember as a child looking at those paintings and watching the ladies making the windows fun with paint.  That was back in the 1960s and ‘70s and adds, “Wow, I guess they impressed me enough to make me follow in their footsteps since about 2005.”

In the past her husband, George helped paint the windows, but he has been busy with other endeavors, so her new helper is Danielle Kingsley

So here we are in 2019 and the theme chosen for this stampede is in honor of teachers and education as Super Heros.  She hopes everyone enjoys this year’s fun Stampede window art and “here’s to a life of super learning.”
