SkillsUSA Career Conference well received at Centauri

Centauri students learn about a variety of careers during the first annual SkillsUSA Career Conference.

LA JARA — On Thursday, January 31, at Centauri High School business and industry from around the area met for the first annual SkillsUSA Career Conference.

This conference was organized by students, Chance Smith and McKay Russell with the help of all SkillsUSA members and a generous grant from Lowe’s.

The career conference was made up of a career fair with 30 business and industry partners as well as a variety of workshops that students were able to learn career-ready skills in areas of communication, interviewing, resume building, customer service and job applications.

The conference was well received by both students and business partners. The success of this year’s conference has already begun plans for this conference to become an annual event.
