SLV Cinderella Project seeks donations

ALAMOSA — Birdie’s Boutique is hosting the San Luis Valley Cinderella Project for the 2018 prom season.

The Cinderella project provides free prom gowns, accessories, hair styling and nail services for high school girls from every school in the Valley who otherwise couldn’t afford the high cost of attending prom.

Coordinator Roberta Rivera, owner of Birdie's Boutique, has contracted with a seamstress to provide alterations to the dresses as needed as well as a beautician to provide hairstyling and nails for the recipients and is seeking individual donations and business sponsorships to assist in covering the high cost for these services.

Administrators from the school districts will refer all donation recipients.

“I’m so glad to see this project coming together and I’m very pleased with the generosity of all of the donors and volunteers who have come forward so far. We’re looking forward to making some girls’ dreams come true,” Rivera stated.

Financial donations, as well as donations of clean, gently-used gowns, shoes and accessories can be made at Birdies Boutique, 507 Bell Ave., Alamosa.
