SAN LUIS VALLEY– The CDC’s most recent update of COVID-19 Community Levels placed Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla, Mineral and Rio Grande counties at Level Medium; and Saguache County  at Level Low. 

If you have symptoms of respiratory illness, stay at home away from others and use a home test that you already have on hand to test for COVID-19, or contact your healthcare provider for their guidance about whether you need an appointment. 

It is recommended each household have at-home COVID-19 test kits on hand. Expiration dates for most home test kits have been extended. Binax Now COVID-19 antigen tests are okay to use for 15 months from the date of manufacture. If you need help to know if your home test is still okay for use, you may call (719) 480-8719 or look it up on the FDA website. 

At-home COVID-19 tests can be purchased at pharmacies or online; they may also be picked up at no cost at a number of community locations. Community locations in the SLV include all County Public Health offices, Alamosa Public Library; Adams State University HR and Housing Office; Boys and Girls Club of the SLV; La Puente Food Bank in Alamosa; City of Alamosa Rec Center; Mosca Pit Stop; Center Library; Crestone Mercantile; Del Norte Library; South Fork Visitors Center; Monte Vista Library; Monte Vista Town Hall; Del Norte Town Hall; Fun Valley; Migrant Head Start in Center; Haskin Elementary; Conejos County Public Libraries in La Jara, Antonito, and Capulin; Conejos County Social Services. Please do NOT go to these community locations if you are ill. If you do not see a location near you, please call your local public health agency.

COVID-19 vaccines and boosters remain available through local vaccine providers, and state supported mobile vaccine clinics are scheduled from 10am to 6pm at the following locations:

• Friday 7/8/2022 at the Alamosa Public Library

• Saturday 7/9/2022 at Ramon’s Mexican Restaurant in South Fork

• Sunday 7/10/22 at Family Dollar in La Jara

• Tuesday 7/12/22 at Simple Foods in Del Norte

• Wednesday 7/13/22 at the Steam Train Hotel in Antonito

• Thursday 7/14/22 at Chapman Park in Monte Vista

• Friday 7/15/2022 at 101 Bar and Grill in Garcia
