Monte Vista Co-op buys Jordan Lobato’s Grand Champion heifer on Aug. 11 at the San Luis Valley Fair held at the Ski Hi Complex in Monte Vista. The heifer went for $4,500. Lobato was not present at the auction because she was in Denver accepting her Boettcher Scholarship.

Alamosa Building Supply buys Savona Thomson’s three Grand Champion chickens Friday at the San Luis Valley Fair held in Monte Vista. The chickens went for $600 total.

Alta Fuels buys Nicole-Josaphine Albert’s Grand Champion turkey on Aug. 11 at the San Luis Valley Fair. The turkey went for $350.
