ST PETE BEACH, Florida — The National HealthCare Service Excellence Conference is dedicated to delivering evidence-based solutions to help hospitals and other healthcare facilities improve the overall patient experience.

The 2018 Summit Awards are presented by Custom Learning Systems during the annual Service Excellence Conference. Awards are given to qualified, innovative, and progressive individuals, teams, and healthcare facilities that have made outstanding progress towards improving the patient experience and staff engagement. Individuals, teams, or organizations must be nominated to be eligible for a Summit Award.

The Summit Awards committee received over 233 nominations from 23 different healthcare organizations spanning 11 states. 55 of the nominations were chosen as Pinnacle Achievers (the best of the best), and 15 of those 55 were presented the Summit Award.

Twenty individual nominees and three team nominees were recognized from San Luis Valley Health. In addition to the individual and team nominations, San Luis Valley Health received four Pinnacle Awards (Julie Ramstetter, Exceptional Nurse; Dr. Carissa Tripi, Customer Focused Provider; San Luis Valley Health Service Excellence Council, SEC; and Stuart Avenue Primary Care Clinic, Medical Clinic of Choice).

San Luis Valley Health also received 13 Breakthrough Awards for improvements and accomplishments among the patient experience, specifically HCAHPS and ED CAHPS National Top Box scores. San Luis Valley Health’s Awards and Recognition team was selected to give a Breakout Session Presentation on,  “Awards and Recognition: 21 Best Practices on a Budget” by Adam Lawrence, MFN, RDN, Director of Clinical Nutrition and Chad Chavez, MBA, Marketing Specialist.
