SLV Heath spreading vaping word

ALAMOSA — San Luis Valley Health is joining the effort to spread the word regarding the recently discovered health risks associated with vaping by posting Health Advisory Notice Update.

According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, vaping related illness has produced some staggering statistics. This includes 1479 cases and 33 deaths have been linked to the use of vaping products as of Oct. 15, 2019.

The CDC has also issued an interim guidance for healthcare providers regarding the evaluation and treatment of patients with lung injury that is suspected to be vaping- related. The CDC recommends that all confirmed or probable cases or individuals that are considered highly suspect should be reported and any remaining product collected for testing.
