SLV residents urged to be in court Sept. 5

DENVER — The 37-year-old Sangre de Cristo Land Grant Case known as “Lobato v. Taylor” is going back to court. The owners of La Sierra have appealed the 2002 decision awarded to the people by the Colorado Supreme Court and affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court. Community members and access holders may show their support by attending the hearing in Denver at the Colorado Court of Appeals, 14th & Broadway Street on Wednesday, September 5 at 9:30 a.m. The Land Rights Council is seeking 10 individuals who will drive and take 4-5 people with them in their vehicles in an effort to help pack the courtroom.
