ALAMOSA — Society Hall, at 400 Ross Avenue in Alamosa, invites the community to a special holiday themed show, featuring the Santa Fe trio American JeM in concert Saturday, December 8th at 7 pm. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door, and are available online at www.societyhall.org, or in Alamosa at the Green Spot at 711 State Ave.

“American JeM was the hit of our September mini-festival fundraiser, with their elegant presentation and beautiful harmony vocals” said Society Hall board member Don Richmond. He continued, “Everyone was raving about them, and we’re thrilled to have them back for this special holiday show. We’re also extremely grateful to Alamosa State Bank for helping sponsor this event.”

ASB President, Russell Achatz, said, “What Society Hall does for Alamosa and the surrounding community continues to be amazing. We are excited for them to begin live CD Recordings, and really put Alamosa on the national map. Having listened to the Holiday CD put out by American JeM, we are honored to help sponsor this show. We encourage folks to get their tickets as soon as possible because we think it will be a full house. Merry Christmas from Alamosa State Bank to you.”

American JeM is Jay Cawley (bass, guitar, vocals), Ellie-Ellie (vocals, mandolin, percussion), and Michael Umphrey (guitar, vocals). Jay, for the last 27 years and counting, has toured and recorded with Grammy Award-winning country superstar, Juice Newton. He is also a published songwriter. Ellie studied classical voice and opera but found her voice in Americana music. She has earned two songwriting awards at the Santa Fe Traditional and Bluegrass Music Festival. And as for Michael, he traveled the world perfecting his guitar-playing and silky baritone crooning while touring with The New Christy Minstrels for 29 years, and with Glenn Yarborough as well.

Since American JeM has been performing, the trio has been nominated for eight New Mexico

Music Awards: Best Cover (2014, 2015), Best Vocal Performance (2014, 2015)), Best Original Pop Song (2014), Best Master Engineer (2014), Best Song (2016), and Best Religous/Gospel Song (2016). The trio won NMMA’s Best Cover Song (2015) and Best Religious/Gospel Song (2016) awards.
