Sierra Grande swim team
ALAMOSA—  Sierra Grande is diving into girls swimming and their first season begins November 13.  They are beginning to form the team, and it will be open for any girl from any school who wants to join.  Practives will be held at Adams State, with competition in Salida, Pueblo, Gunnison and La Junta.  There is a parent and informational meeting about the season this Thursday Oct 12th at 6:30pm at the Alamosa Rec Center for anyone interested in learning more about the sport. CHSAA Official Appreciation Week
STATEWIDE— This is a week for  member schools, teams and school communities to let CHSAA officials know how much their time, dedication and commitment means to high school activities. A signed card from the team, an additional pregame "shout-out," a gift card or basket — there are so many ways CHSAA schools can acknowledge the importance of officials to ensuring our athletes compete in a safe and equitable environment. Currently, there are 4,686 officials serving the CHSAA membership.

Pink Out games
ALAMOSA— Friday Oct. 13 the ASU Volleyball team and men's volleyball club will face the Regis Rangers. They will also be raising funds for SLV Health by selling off cinnamon rolls, chili beans and cotton candy in Plachy Hall. Free prizes will be handed out to those wearing pink. Come out and support ASU Volleyball at 4 and 7 p.m. for a good cause.

12 Hours of  Penitence

 Moonlight Madness
ALAMOSA— Adams State University invites everyone to come and meet the Men’s Basketball team. Admission is free and there will be popcorn, cotton candy, pizza and T-shirts. Participants will get to see high-flying dunks, the ASU Athletics Dance Competition as well as get the opportunity to meet Denver Nuggets Mascot, Rocky. There will also be shooting contests for people to take part in, all on Friday October 20 at 8 p.m. in the Plachy Hall Gymnasium.

High Altitude Face Off
ALAMOSA— Nemesis promotions presents the High Altitude Face Off VIII Saturday Oct. 21 in Adams State University' Plachy Hall. Fighters featured include Isaac Lopez, Omar Gonzalez as well as Sonny and Cody Yohn. All proceeds go to Angelo Duarte Memorial wrestling scholarship. Weigh-in Oct. 20 at 6 p.m  and after-fight party both held at Purple Pig in Alamosa. Tickets available at Chaparral Tire, VIP tickets still available for $45 include free beer.
