Spring Tea

A big thank you to all who came for the Ladies Spring Tea, luncheon and Spring Fling Sale last weekend. It was so much fun and wonderful to see folks here enjoying themselves! Thank you to our volunteers: Peggy Curto, Vivian Ballance, Becky Bender, Janet Yohn, Judy Wiescamp, Kindra Lambert, Jeff Otey, and Virginia Martin. Where would we be without you???

May brings many fun and informative activities here at the Senior Center. If you have ever wondered how safe the internet is and how to navigate it, please join us Wednesday, May 5th at 10:30 am for the beginning session of “Tech Bytes” presented by Serena Sullivan and Dianne Chavez of Trinidad State Jr College.  Bring your device (charger) and passwords. This is great for beginners and advanced users. Come and learn about technology the fun way!

On Thursday, May 6th at 1 pm Dave Hagan of Falcon Tours will provide information on the Alamosa Seniors trip to Hawaii in November and the La Jara Northerners Alaskan Cruise in September.

Thursday, May 13th the Senior van will be headed to Santa Claran Casino in NM. Seating is limited so please call soon to make your reservation.

Saturday May 22nd Workman Firearms will conduct a Concealed Carry Workshop starting at 10 am. This class is free to members of the Alamosa Senior Citizens, $30 for seniors 50 years and older and $60 for the public. Please call 719-589-3277 or 719-480-0646 to register or email [email protected]

May 23-24 the Seniors plan a trip to the Double Eagle in Cripple Creek. Please call to register and for more information.

Congregate meals are being served from 12 – 12:30 pm in the dining room or are available for takeout. Reservations are necessary so please call SCCS at 719-589-4511 if you would like to join us. Masks are required to enter the building and social distancing is practiced. All areas are disinfected several times a day in order to maintain a healthy environment.

Dominoes: Thurs 1 pm – 3 pm.                                                                                                                                                     

The Pool room is open daily from 9 am – 3 pm for Open Play.

Transportation for those 50 and over is available Mon-Fri 9 am – 12:30 pm for Dr. visits, grocery shopping, banking, lunch or activities here at the Center. Please call ahead at least 24 hours before your transportation request.
