MONTE VISTA — The 2018 5K Spud Run/Walk in conjunction with the San Luis Valley Potato Festival was a large success!

With over 80 participants, potato sales’ proceeds and other donations, the event raised $3,000! All proceeds from this year’s event were donated to a Pediatric Diabetes Fund housed at San Luis Valley Health. The funds will be distributed to front line providers and nurses throughout the SLV in the form of gift cards to give to families of patients.

This year the 5K Spud Run/Walk was organized and put on with a collaboration of the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee (CPAC), The City of Monte Vista Rec. Department, Farm Fresh Direct LLC and San Luis Valley Health. They would like to extend a huge thank you to the community for their generosity and support of this event and look forward to next year!
