The annual CROP Walk on Sunday drew participants ranging from Adams State athletes to candidates, and even a few pups willing to trot for the cause of ending hunger locally and abroad. La Puente hosted the walk as part of Hunger Education week (April 22-27.)

Other events this week include: Tuesday, join the Valley Educational Gardens Initiative’s Garden in a Box workshop from 5-7 p.m. at Boyd Garden, State and 11th Ave., Alamosa; Wednesday, April 25, drop off donations to the Food Bank Network at Safeway and City Market in Alamosa from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday at SquarePeg Brewerks in downtown Alamosa from 4-6 p.m. enjoy Hunger Advocacy Happy Hour; and enjoy a Cooking Matters Pop-Up Tour on Friday, April 27 from 1-3 p.m. to learn how to shop for healthy foods at the Alamosa food bank, 513 Sixth St., Alamosa.
