Cerny Alamosa Rotarians Suzanne DeVore, left, and Judy McNeilsmith put the finishing touches on the plexiglass cover over the first station of the newest StoryWalk sponsored by the Alamosa Public Library. A walk through the display starting in front of city hall allows children and their families to read an entire book. Alamosa Rotary Club helped establish the StoryWalk a few years ago.

ALAMOSA— The Alamosa Public Library’s Friends of the Library volunteers partnered with Rotary Club of Alamosa and Alamosa Public Library’s Teen Advisory Board to update the StoryWalk at City Hall.

Children of all ages are invited to come enjoy the new book, How Do You Feel? by Kathrin Schӓrer, by walking from page to page along the Rio Grande. Questions and movement prompts are also included on the page spreads to encourage interaction between caregivers and children.

The story begins on the east side of the City Hall building, near locomotive No. 169., The book "How Do You Feel?" will be part of Storytime at Alamosa Public Library on Tuesday, July 9, and Friday, July 12, at 10 a.m.

Storytime is held twice weekly and is geared toward children ages 0-5, but all ages and stages are welcome to enjoy picture books and songs. All library events can be found at alamosalibrary.org/events, including Kids Club programming for school age children and Tween Nights. Young people aged 13-18 are encouraged to join the Library’s Teen Advisory Board, which meets the second Thursday of each month from 6-7 p.m. at Alamosa Public Library, 300 Hunt Ave.

Community members are also invited to join the Friends of the Library, which provides library volunteer opportunities for adults. More information can be found at alamosalibrary.org under the About Us: Volunteering tab.

The Alamosa Rotary Club provides community service opportunities as well as a weekly meeting to connect with local professional leaders, discuss issues in the community and gain knowledge from community presenters. The Alamosa Rotary Club meets twice monthly on Mondays at noon at Juanito’s Mexican Kitchen in Alamosa.
