Capulin resident Tenisha Marie Ortega, 27, passed away July 8, 2023.

Tenisha was born in Alamosa, Colo., on Oct. 22, 1995, to Crystal Fernandez and Jesse Ortega.

She resided in Monte Vista with her boyfriend and daughter Zenaido and Yanelli Sandoval whom she loved very much.

Tenisha was a hard worker and spent the last seven years as a delivery driver for O’Reilly’s auto parts.

Tenisha loved to fish, garden, and spend time with her daughter, her dog Titan, and her family. She was the best mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend, and she will be forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Lorenzo and Irene Martinez, Lionel and Lucille Ortega, Gregoria Vargas and Gildardo Fernandez; her cousin and best friend Chenoa Dye, cousin Alicia Madril, her older brother Donavan Ortega and younger sibling baby Fernandez.

She is survived by her daughter Yanelli, boyfriend Zenaido Sandoval, her mother, Crystal Fernandez, her father Jesse (Tiffany) Ortega and stepfather Joel Carrillo, her brothers and sisters Khiara (Cesar) Ponce, Jazmine and Laila Ortega, Pierce Brown, Rosa Fernandez, and Julio, Javan, and Jayla Carrillo.

Her grandparents Lalo and Priscilla Fernandez, Louella (Conio) Ortega and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and nephews.

A rosary will be held on Friday, July 14, at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish in Capulin. The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 15, at 11 a.m. also at St. Joseph’s Parish. Burial will be at the Capulin Cemetery.
