Tina Armijo

Antonito resident Tina Armijo, 95, was called home on September 16, 2022. She passed peacefully after living an incredible and adventurous life. Tina was born on November 29, 1926, in Guadalupe, Colorado, the daughter of Benjamin Chavez and Bertha Lujan. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Alfonso Armijo. The two shared a happy and loving union until his passing. Tina loved to do crossword puzzles, go fishing, crocheting and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.

Tina was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Bertha Chavez, husband Alfonso Armijo, son Arthur "Art" Armijo, siblings Mary Martinez, Raymond Chavez, Josephine Chavez, Emma Marquis, Roberta Lobato, Benjamin Chavez Jr., Gloria Chavez Gilliam, of Denver,  and Lucille Chavez.

Tina will live on through her daughters Tina Casias of Antonito, CO; Ana Armijo of Alamosa, CO; Emily Armijo of McKinney, TX; grandchildren Emily Nicole (Rob) Molloy, Max (Tamera) Casias, Alfonso (Jeannette) Casias, Antonio (Megan) Casias, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, sisters Ann Kramer of Colorado Springs, CO; Stella Bustos of Phoenix, AZ and one brother Walter (Martha) Jarvis of Washington.  She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.

Cremation was chosen and a Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 10 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at the La Jara Cemetery.
