

Toby Henry O’Caña

Toby Henry O’Caña passed away peacefully in his home on Oct. 19th, 2023, at the age of 82 with his beloved wife Barbara by his side.
Toby was born on June 19, 1941, in Los Valdeses, Colo., to Alonso and Sadie O’Caña. After graduating from Center High School in 1960, he married Barbara and joined the United States Marine Corp. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif., where he served his country proudly until 1965.
He and Barbara were happily married for 63 years and had 5 children together. They lived in California until he left the military and then returned to Colorado to raise their family. In 1984, they moved to Brighton, Colo., and resided there until the time of his death.
Toby worked at the United States Mint for 30 years before retiring to pursue his other interests. Toby was a hardworking man who loved his family, working on cars, fishing and horses. He also had a passion for weightlifting and was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers! He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be forever missed.
Toby was preceded in death by his son Bill and his parents Alonso and Sadie.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; his children Joey (Mary), Yvonne, Shelley and Toby (Kristie). He will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Life for Toby will be on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, at the Elks Lodge in Brighton from Noon to 5 p.m. located at 101 North Main St. Brighton, CO 80601.
