Trail of Thoughts: Forging ahead

Forging ahead is something that has to be done. It may not always be easy, but it is important.

2018 was a tough year for many, but in the midst, of it all, so many have chosen to keep moving forward. Some the greatest stories of courage and perseverance can come from tragedy.

Two good examples of this are Wade Sundell and Caleb Schmidt. Both men are competitors in the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association. Sundell is the 2018 World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider and Schmidt is the 2018 World Champion Tie Down Calf Roper. There is more than meets the eye to both of their stories. Schmidt lost his father, brother and sister-in-law to a car accident and Sundell lost his home to a fire this year. Even in the midst of tragedy, both chose to keep going. Because of this, both were rewarded with some much needed good news and success.

The hard truth is that life is not fair. The question is what we choose to do with it. It does not seem to be much use just coming to a standstill, even when things get rough. We are meant to keep living and learning.

I am convinced that everything happens for a reason. God has His purposes. They may be hard to see, but good will ultimately prevail.
