Unopened Judy Collins record up for bid to benefit community

ALAMOSA — After seeing Tuesday’s Courier, Cathy Martinez realized it was the perfect time to promote the Faistl Hall Bazaar this Saturday, July 13.

The Bazaar received a locker full of property that was owned by David and Ellie Labouisse when they passed away. Besides furniture and other items, there were approximately  600 albums of all genre’s and one unopened Judy Collins record. The record, Hard Times for Lovers, was released in 1979 and includes Desperado, I Remember Sky, Starmaker, Dorothy, The Promise (I’ll Never Say Goodbye), Theme from Ice Castles (Through the Eyes of Love) and Where or When.

Martinez said there are still about 300 LPs in the collection.

Purchases are through bids only and can be made by calling 580-5477 or visiting the Bazaar starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday at Faistl Hall, 709 4th St. in Alamosa.

As a side note, she said Ellie Labouisse was the great-granddaughter of frontiersman and former commander of Fort Garland Kit Carson.
