Vickie DeHerrera

Vickie DeHerrera, 67, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2020. Vickie was born to Selso Mondragon (preceded in death) and Gloria Mondragon both of Saguache, CO. 

She married the love of her life, Fred DeHerrera on June 3, 1972. Together they had 3 children: Mercedes Ortega-DeHerrera (46), Crystal DeHerrera (42), and Edward DeHerrera (39). Vickie also had 5 grandchildren:  Michael DeHerrera (26), Alyscia Arellano (22), Angel Arellano (preceded in death), Mackayla Arellano (18), and Samantha Arellano (16).   The family would also like to include nana’s beloved Ashley Duran (18), who was a HUGE part of the immediate family. Ashley came into the family as a young child, and Nana welcomed her into the family with open arms, and loved her as one of her own grandchildren.

Not only was Vickie an amazing daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin, but Vickie was known for delicious baking and her amazing cooking. Her friends and family always looked forward to eating her homemade bread, cinnamon rolls and especially her fried chicken.  The things she was most known for, were her devotion to her family and her passion for helping others.

Vickie’s Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 2, 2021.  In respect of COVID-19 restrictions, we are restricting the service to immediate family only, to continue to support safety guidelines. The family asks that no flower donations be made. You can make donations to: Children’s Hospital Outpatient Specialty Clinic of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
