Victim found shot to death Monday- UPDATE

Monte Vista man, 24, is victim

ALAMOSA– Authorities have identified the man fatally shot in a disturbance about 8 p.m. Monday at 1516 West Sixth Street here. Aron Delgado, 24, Monte Vista sustained a gunshot wound and later succumbed to his injuries.

A possible suspect is in custody and is cooperating with authorities, and Alamosa Police Department said there is no threat to the community.

This is the second fatal shooting on West Sixth Street in the past month.

APD officers were called to a disturbance at the residence on a report of possible shots fired and found an unresponsive male victim. Lifesaving measures were initiated, and medical assistance requested but the victim succumbed to his injuries while officers were on scene.

Officers aired information about a possible suspect and Colorado State Patrol located a male party believed to have been involved in the altercation.

Detectives are actively investigating and are in communication with the 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and the Alamosa County Coroner.
