Viola Caroline Vigil

Alamosa resident Viola Caroline Vigil, 86, passed away on April 13, 2021.  She was born in Platteville, Colorado to Ray and Erma (Lopez) Montoya.  Viola was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, until the time she was home-bound.  She was often found volunteering around the Parish for different events.  She enjoyed crocheting, reading the Bible, cooking and above all spending time with her family.

Viola is survived by her children, Larry (Brenda) Vigil and Michael Vigil, her former daughter-in-law Rebecca Maes, her grandchildren, Kristi (Ernie) Aughi, Dawndee (Benney) Duran, Leacia (Jerome) Martinez and Garrett Vigil, her sister Maryann Romero as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Pedro Vigil, her sons, Peter Daniel Vigil and Johnny Vigil, her siblings, Margaret Weaver, Marylou Rocha, Doris Garcia, Beverly Montoya, Geraldine Montoya and Ray Allen Montoya, Jr.

Cremation was selected and a Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa.  Please express condolences to the family at www.rogersfunerals.com
