Make A Difference Day 2018 resulted in 123 loads of trash removed from roadsides and taken to the regional landfill. Also disposed of were 811 tires and 372 cubic yards of household, organic and construction debris. Donations to the Monte Vista Food Bank were valued at $1,785 in nonperishable items, which will feed 94 people for three days. In addition, $401 cash was donated for holiday food items. Make A Difference Day organizers Steve and Carol Baer appreciate all the San Luis Valley residents who participated in this annual event to help clean up their neighborhoods and county roads and to assist the food bank.
