Warrant results in drug arrests

ALAMOSA — Alamosa Police picked up two suspects - Jose Arellano, 42 and Phillip Sandoval, 40 both of Alamosa for drug related offenses.

At approximately  8:30 a.m., detectives from the Alamosa Police Department obtained a search warrant for 1020 3rd Street in regards to complaints of illegal drug activity.  While executing the search warrant, three subjects were contacted within the residence. Alamosa Police Department Detectives located approximately 22 grams of heroin, 10 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of U.S. currency and numerous items used to distribute narcotics within the residence.

 During this operation two residents Arellano and Sandoval were taken into custody.  Arellano was transported to the Alamosa County Detention Center for unlawful distribution of a schedule I and II which is a class 3 drug felony and possession of a controlled substance schedule I and II which is a class 4 drug felony.  Sandoval was transported to the Alamosa County Detention Center for possession of a controlled substance schedule I and II and he also has an active warrant out of the Alamosa Police Department for failure to appear (FTA).  Based on the items located by APD Detectives, it is alleged Arellano was distributing heroin and methamphetamine from the residence.
