Warren “Butch” E. Prator

Longtime San Acacio resident Warren “Butch” E. Prator, 75, died April 18, 2022 at the Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, New Mexico.

Butch was welcomed into this world on July 12, 1946 in Trinidad, Colorado to Arthur William Prator and Bessie June Crane Prator.  He married the love of his life, Jacquelyn Winner, on December 23, 1972 in the Mesita Community Church.

Butch worked since the age of 19 driving truck and travelled millions of miles throughout his 56 years of driving.  He loved spending time with his family and friends and never knew a stranger.  Butch had a good sense of humor and enjoyed teasing the waitresses in the restaurants.  He had friends all over the country and had a nickname for everybody.  Butch loved to dance with his wife Jacque.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and did a bit of hunting. 

Butch is survived by his wife Jacque Prator of San Acacio; his children Tiffany Prator, Warren Arthur Prater, and Kristin Prator, all of Carter, OK; his grandchildren Tristan and Cameron Prator, Zach Piancino, Brayden Lynn Prator, and Paisley Justus; his sister Lorraine (Carl) Drum of Carter, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. 

Butch is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Bessie, and his sister Willa June Van Gieson. 

A Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa.  A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Mesita Community Church in Mesita, Colorado.  Cremation will follow services.
