Willett chosen as DA for 12th Judicial District

DENVER — Gov. Jared Polis on Friday announced the appointment of Robert Samuel Willett of Alamosa to serve as District Attorney for the 12th Judicial District.

His appointment is occasioned by the appointment of Crista Newmyer-Olsen to serve as District Court Judge in the 12th Judicial District.

Willett is a Senior Deputy District Attorney at the Office of the District Attorney, 12th Judicial District, a position he has held since March 2019. 

Previously, he was a Deputy District Attorney at the Office of the District Attorney, Fourth Judicial District and a Deputy District Attorney at the Office of the District Attorney, 12th Judicial District. 

Willett earned his B.A. from Metropolitan State College in 1996 and his J.D. from Appalachian State School of Law in 2012.

The appointment is effective Jan. 1.
