Woof Creek Sled Dog & Skijor Races rescheduled

SOUTH FORK — The 2nd Annual Woof Creek Sled Dog & Skijor Race has been rescheduled due to snow conditions.

The new event dates — snow permitting — are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 7-8.

This year’s four-legged athletic competition is ISDA sanctioned and will have 20 or more sled dog and skijor teams battling it out on a picturesque snow track at the Rio Grande Club & Resort in South Fork.

The competitions are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and will run from 4 to 6 miles and include two participation levels — seasoned and recreational mushers.

The races will include four and six sled-dog teams, as well as skijor racers, which are cross country skiers pulled by either one or two pooches.

Stay tuned for more information as the new race dates draw closer.
