Workforce centers to hold open houses

VALLEY — The workforce centers serving Alamosa and Monte Vista will be holding free open houses this week to showcase the variety of services available to businesses and job seekers.

The public is invited to stop in at the Monte Vista Workforce Center, 2079 Sherman Avenue, on September 20 from 1-4 p.m. to meet with staff and learn about the services and resources available. Light refreshments will be served.

At the same time the open house is taking place, the workforce center will also hold a hiring event for Idaho-Pacific Colorado Corporation. Job seekers are encouraged to update their résumé and prepare to spend some time talking with representatives from the company.

On September 22, the Alamosa Workforce Center, 407 State Avenue, Suite C., will hold also hold an open house from 2-4 p.m. Everyone is invited to stop in, visit with staff and enjoy light refreshments.

Both events are part of Workforce Development Month. Throughout September, the state’s network of employment and training offices called Workforce Centers are offering a variety of events for Colorado workers and the companies that hire them.
