Youth Fishing Day planned for June 14

ALAMOSA — Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and the City of Alamosa Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite all area children ages 15 and younger out for a fun day of fishing at the Blanca Vista Ponds on Thursday, June 14. The ponds have recently been stocked by CPW, and staff from both organizations will be on-site from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. The instructional portion will begin at 9 a.m. sharp. CPW will provide loaner rods and fishing tackle; Parks and Rec will grill hot dogs for lunch. A parent/guardian will need to accompany any children under age 7. There is no charge to participate though a release of liability waiver must be signed by a parent/guardian on-site before participation. For kids who have never fished before; this is the perfect opportunity to give it a try with tips from the CPW professionals.
