Yvonne Nadine Lopez

Yvonne Nadine Lopez, 80, of Denver, Colorado passed away on December 21, 2021 in Denver, Colorado. Yvonne was born in Alamosa, Colorado on June 16, 1941. 

 She was a devout Catholic and served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and served on the Pastoral Council of St. Thomas More Catholic Church for many years. 

Despite having never graduated high school, Yvonne went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in English from CU Denver and was a member of the International English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta. 

She was an avid sports fan, loved to read and watch movies and often did so in the company of her beloved cats, Pouncer and Toonces.

Yvonne is survived by daughters Yvonne Garcia and Michallene (Brad) Fenner, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, her brother Jimmy (Bonnie Compos) Lopez and her sisters Rose (Gene) Lampart and Priscilla (Maynard) Garcia. She is also survived by nieces and nephews to numerous to mention, all greatly loved by their Aunt Nadine. She is preceded in death by her sons Donald Jeffrey and Steven Earl, parents Santiago and Maria Lucia and siblings Johnny, Ellen, Earl, Dave, Walter, Sister Loretta, Donny and Margaret.

The Rosary will be prayed for Yvonne at Good Shepherd Catholic Parish located at 2626 E 7th Ave. Parkway in Denver, Colorado with the funeral mass following at 11:00 am. Mourners are encouraged to wear a favorite hat.
