ALAMOSA – A youth boxer from Monte Vista, Adam Valdez, will be fighting at the Cinco de Mayo Throw Down on Saturday at 330 N. Court Street in Pueblo.
Valdez is 11 years old and he will be fighting in the 75-pound division.
He is coached by Alejandro Heredia who is looking to establish a boxing program and he is looking for other youth boxers to participate. He is trying to promote a drug, alcohol and gang prevention program through boxing.

The Cinco de Mayo Throw Down is presented by Ybarra’s Boxing Club in Pueblo and the host is Joe Ybarra. There will also be a low rider show which begins at 10 a.m. and boxing begins at 2 p.m. In addition to boxing and the car show, there will also be music, food and beer.
