Multiple shots fired into house on State Avenue

Although house was occupied, no one was injured

ALAMOSA — Officers with the Alamosa Police Department (APD) were dispatched to a house on the north side of Alamosa Wednesday night on a report of multiple shots being fired. The call came shortly after 11 p.m.

According to APD Chief of Police George Dingfelder, shots were fired into a house at 73 State Ave., near the State Avenue Bridge. Dingfelder confirmed that there were occupants in the house at the time, but no one was injured.

As of Thursday morning, APD had not yet determined if the shots were fired by someone who was on foot or driving by but, during the investigation, a “person of interest” has been identified. As of Thursday afternoon, no arrests have been made.

APD believes this to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the community. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no further information is currently being made available.

The police department expressed their gratitude to the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office, Adams State University Police, Alamosa Fire Department, and the Colorado State Patrol for their assistance during this investigation.
