Seven local cross country runners named All-State

ALAMOSA – The Colorado High School Activities Association released its All-State cross country teams on Wednesday.

The All-State teams are posted on the CHSAANow.com web site.

The top 30 individuals were named to an All-State team with the top seven finishers making the first team and the next seven being named to the second team.

In Class 3A, three Alamosa High School girls runners were named to the All-State team. Junior Elizabeth McQuitty was named first team after a third-place finish at the state meet. Senior Sarah DeLaCerda was named to the second team after finishing 13, and senior Madeline Castillo was named honorable mention after finishing 20th.

One runner from the boys team was also named All-State as senior Mario Villaba was honorable mention after a 26th-place finish.

Two local girl runners were named All-State in Class 2A. Del Norte freshman Frannie Edelen and Centauri junior Erica Miller were both honorable mention. They finished 26th and 30th respectively.

One Centauri boy was All-State as Carson Bagwell was honorable mention who finished in 25th place.
