Vets Memorial car show draws 48 vehicles, two motorcycles

ALAMOSA – The Alamosa Veterans Memorial Park Committee hosted its second annual car show Saturday at the Alamosa Family Recreation Center. The show attracted 48 cars and trucks and two motorcycles.

The Best of Show for the vehicle division went to Darrel Yohn and his Super Camino. Second place went to Solomon Archuleta and his 1969 GTO, and third place went to Bob Zimmerman and his 1945 Ford pick-up.

Other awards in the vehicle division saw Lori Sharpe win the Commissioner’s Choice for her 1957 Star Chief Pontiac. The Ladies’ Choice went to Julian Lopez for his 1968 Camaro, and the Veterans’ Choice went to Louie Maestas for his 1959 El Camino.

In the motorcycle division, Best of Show went to Andy Espinoza for his 1996 Harley Davidson. Second place went to Dave Farley for his 1992 FXR.

Also at the award ceremony, the committee honored a local Veteran. Pat Mascarenas received that honor. Mascarenas served in Vietnam.
