AR Espinoza, Sr., 94, passed away peacefully on Aug. 9, 2024, in Alamosa, surrounded by his loving family.

AR was born in Espinoza, Colo., on July 25, 1930, to Benjamin F. and Manuelita (Lobato) Espinoza. He met Gloria Marquez, the love of his life, and they started dating. They married on June 2, 1951, in Antonito, Colo. They resided in Alamosa, Colo.

AR Loved spending time with his family, working in the yard, fishing, riding horses and volunteering as an usher at Sacred Heart Church for many years.

He was a jack of all trades; he started driving a semi-truck hauling cattle and pigs for his dad at the age of 15. He then worked with the forest service. He also sold cars for a bit with McMullen. He soon went onto work at Mongomery Ward and became the store manager for 30 years.

He retired for a time, and then decided to drive for the Alamosa School District for many years. He then fully retired in 1994-1995 to spend more time with his wife and family.

AR is survived by his three daughters Gloria Ann (John) McCurdy of New Jersey, Elizabeth (Earl) Masters of Wyoming, and Lisa (Chris) Faust of Colorado, three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one sister.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Gloria, his son Arnold R. Espinoza Jr., and his 5 siblings.

AR will be laid to rest in Alamosa Cemetery next to his wife.
