Corey Don Fernandez, 34, Alamosa, Colo., was taken from us, Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
Corey was born Aug. 17, 1989, in Alamosa, Colo., and was a lifelong resident. He worked various jobs though out his life and was always willing to lend a hand to friends and family when they needed help.
Corey faced many struggles throughout his life as we all do but he always pushed forward and never gave up. He will be remembered for his quiet, kind nature and strong will. He always showed up for people when it mattered most!
He is survived by his mother Monica Apodaca, Alamosa; his maternal grandmother Sara Lee, Colorado Springs; sister, Toni Fernandez, Alamosa; nephews, Elijah Sierra, Urijah Sierra and Elias Sierra, Alamosa; maternal aunts Juanita Apodaca, Alamosa, Julie Apodaca, Colorado Springs, cousins; Joseph Sandoval Jr., Alamosa, Judah Sanchez, Alamosa, Donovin Naverez, Damion Naverez and Jayda Laster.
He was preceded in death by his birth father Robert Fernandez, stepdad Jimmy Lopez and grandpa Jim Lopez.
Services will be held at the Sacred Heart Church in Alamosa, Colo. Rosary, 9:30 a.m., Mass at 10, burial at Alamosa Cemetery, followed by lunch at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall.
