Previous Sanford resident Matthew Dale Crowther, 47, passed away Aug. 3, 2024, at his home in Tucson, Ariz. Matt was born Sept. 20, 1976, at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, Colo., to Dale and Shaun Crowther.
He attended Sanford High School. He participated in football and wrestling, where he got to go to State. He was fond of the mountains and camping. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was considered a younger brother to his uncles, Shawn and Corey. He was an avid animal lover, especially to his own dogs. He moved to Tucson where he met his wife, Beverly, and his two stepsons.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shaun; grandparents Lois and Everet Crowther and Clyde and Shirley Horner; and his aunt, Trish Maes.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; mother-in-law, Ruth; stepsons Richard and Curtis; biological son, Cameron and granddaughter; his father, Dale Crowther of Sanford, Colo.; siblings Leslie Crowther of Clarkson, Neb., Clint (Tara)Crowther of La Jara, Colo., Lacy Crowther of Pierce City, Mo., and Colt (Amanda) Crowther of Alamosa, Colo.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Aug. 24, 2024, at the Sanford Community Center from 1 to 3 p.m. in Sanford, Colo.
