Mean Moose compete in two tournaments

Alamosa in tourneys in Durango and Pueblo

ALAMOSA – The Alamosa High School boys golf team participated in two tournaments on Monday.

The first team competed at the Durango Hillcrest Invitational at Hillcrest Golf Course. The Mean Moose finished ninth with 268 and were led by Serjio Najera who was 20th with an 86. Kobe Mizokami was 28th with a 90, Josh Cline was 32nd with a 92, and Clayton Treinen was 47th with a 101.

The host team won the tournament with 216. Durango’s Drew Jepson and Pagosa Springs’ Johnathon Smith were the co-medalists as both shot a two-under-par 69.

The second team was at the Pueblo South Invitational at Elmwood Golf Course. The Mean Moose finished 11th with 292 and were led by Zavier Medina who tied for 30th with a 96. Gibson Gillespie tied for 33rd with a 97, Keenan Mackey tied for 39th with a 99, and Mason Weyers tied for 43rd with a 102.

Swink won the tournament with 244. Pueblo East’s Jayden Padilla was the medalist with a 77.

Alamosa was at the Montezuma-Cortez Invitational Tuesday at Conquistador Golf Course. Monte Vista will also be at that tournament. The Mean Moose will be at the Pagosa Springs Invitational on Wednesday. Monte Vista and Del Norte are also scheduled to compete.
