Two arrested on drug charges

ALAMOSA– Two Alamosa residents were arrested Thursday afternoon on multiple drug charges after a traffic stop for a minor violation by Alamosa Police Department Corporal VanRy and his K9 Goose.

Nicolas Hepsworth, 41, and a passenger in the car, Sahra Gallegos, 38, both of Alamosa were taken into custody after found in possession of controlled substances, firearms and a large amount of US currency. The car was stopped in the 900 block of 11th street ad K9 Goose was deployed and alerted on the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle found two firearms, a one ounce bag of suspected Methamphetamines, 400 or more suspected fentanyl pills, 50 Suboxone stripes, Gabapentin pills, suspected heroin, a scale, multiple clear baggies, and a large amount of US Currency.  

Both Sahra and Nicolas were charged with Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Drug Felony 1), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Drug Felony 4), and Special Offender (due to the firearms) and transported to the Alamosa County Detention Center.
