"We deploy mainly on the Blanca Massif, there are three fourteeners, Blanca, Little Bear, and Ellingwood, to either find lost hikers, come to the aid hikers, or recover the bodies of people who have fallen to their deaths," said Wilson.

Numerous agencies were represented at the event including the Alamosa Police Department, Alamosa County Sheriff's Office, Adams State University Police Department, Colorado National Guard, Tu Casa, US. Forest Service, the National Park Service, and others.

The National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign held throughout the nation that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The Valley Courier will have additional coverage in its Tuesday edition.
