Alex Ernest Quintana, 99

Lifelong San Luis resident Alex Ernest Quintana, 99 and 3 months, passed away November 26, 2018 at his home. Alex was welcomed into the world on September 17, 1919, the beloved son of Epimenio Quintana and Nieves DeHerrera Quintana. Alex worked as a farmer his whole life and had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed going hunting, and spending time with his family, friends and his cat Booties. Alex was an exceptional father, grandfather, great-grandfather, role model and friend to all and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his daughters Marjorie “Margie” (Kenneth) Naramore of San Luis, CO; Lorraine Quintana of Brighton, CO; Marlene Guzman of Denver, CO; Roselyn (Michael) Krugler of Arizona; sons Emery (Cecilia) Quintana of San Acacio, CO; John (Josie) Quintana of Chama, CO; William (Wilma) Quintana of San Pablo, CO; Leonard (Bernice) Quintana of Chama, CO; Dicky Quintana of Salina, KS; Ricky Quintana of San Luis, CO; numerous grand and great-grandchildren, he was part of a family that was fortunate enough to have five generations sisters Irene Cordova of Denver, CO; Gloria Lucero of Denver, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alex was preceded in death by his parents Epimenio and Nieves Quintana, wife Estella Quintana, son Ernest Quintana, George Quintana, David Quintana, Joseph Quintana, brothers Zack Quintana, sisters Rebecca Bowers, Bella Duran and Paula Jaramillo.

Cremation was chosen and a Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Apostolic Cemetery in San Luis. To leave online condolences please visit romerofuneralhomes.com. The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of San Luis.
