Alexie Heline Echo-Hawk

Alexie Heline Echo-Hawk was born on November 26, 2005, and died on October 16, 2021 at the age of 15. She was a sophomore at Sangre de Cristo High School.  Alexie loved her family and basketball. She was enrolled with the Yakama Nation and was of Pawnee descent. Her Yakama name, Tikáynút, came from the Wyam band in Oregon. Her Pawnee name was Pahuks. Alexie grew up both in Pawnee, Oklahoma and Mosca, Colorado. She was a beloved daughter and sister. Alexie is survived by her mom, Crista Newmyer-Olsen, her father Bunky Echo-Hawk, her stepdad Sam Olsen, her stepmom Jasha Lyons-Echo-Hawk, her siblings Jonathan, Khaiya, Leo and Amelia Olsen, Rhiannon Elizabeth McCaughey, Ayo Pahaat Lyons Echo-Hawk, Puyvfekcv Tiwaku Lyons Echo-Hawk and Feather Echo-Hawk; her maternal grandparents H. Ray Newmyer (JoDene Newmyer, deceased) and Catherine Rice-Gallegos (Robert Gallegos); her paternal grandparents Walter and Pauline Echo-Hawk; and her aunts and uncles Randy and Teresa Draves, Cammie Newmyer, Daniel and Kate Newmyer, and Amy and Anthony Echo-Hawk.

Alexie was laid to rest in Pawnee, Oklahoma October 21, 2021. 

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 pm on November 7, 2021, at the Sangre de Cristo High School gym in Mosca, CO.
