Monte Vista resident Ann Monica Montoya, 54, passed away March 12, 2019 in Monte Vista. Ann was welcomed into the world on July 20, 1964, the daughter of Donald Montoya and Theresa Archuleta Montoya. Ann was friend to all, she was always the first to help anyone who needed it. She was her families biggest supporter in all their aspirations in life. A Kind and loving companion, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed dancing, cleaning, playing pool, going shooting and cooking for her family. Her greatest joy in life came from the time she was spent with her family, and friends.

Survivors include her companion Jack Smith of Monte Vista, CO; daughter DeVon Montoya of Monte Vista, CO; sons Butch (Andrea) Smith of Monte Vista, CO; Nathan Randall of Denver, CO; grandchildren D’Angelo Montoya, De’On Cisneros, Danae SMith, Steven Smith, Mariah Randall, De’Marco Randall, sisters Donna (Max) Rojas of Garden City, KS; Ernest John Archuleta of Glendale, CO. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Ann was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Theresa Montoya.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 7:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 10:00 AM also at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be held at the Rock Creek Cemetery at a later date.
