Benito James Pacheco, 70

Longtime Alamosa resident Benito James Pacheco, 70, passed away on October 23, 2018. He was born on July 20, 1948 in Alamosa, Colorado to Edumenio and Eduvijen Pacheco. Benito honorably served his country as a Medic in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged after serving 4 years. He married Florence Lucero in Alamosa, Colorado. Benito worked highway maintenance for the State of Colorado for many years and retired from CDOT. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry and especially treasured spending time with his children and grandchildren. His legacy of a tender and giving heart will live on in his family and all the people he touched in his lifetime. Benito is survived by his wife Florence Pacheco of Alamosa, his children, Mark Pacheco and Linda Synnott, his grandchildren, Shilo and Shaundie Pacheco and Samuel and Emily Synnott as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Mary Harden and Benita Pacheco, his brothers, Gilbert Pacheco and Joe Pacheco. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday October 26, 2018 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm also at the funeral home prior to the service on Friday. Interment will follow in the Alamosa cemetery.
