Brian Keith Winters, 51, of Manassa Colorado passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in Alamosa Colorado. Brian was born in La Jara Colorado on January 18, 1967 to Fred and Marilyn Winters of Manassa Colorado. Graduated from Centauri high School in 1989. He married Lori Morgan Winters on October 21 1989. They have four children Ryan, Brandon, TJ, and Alicia Winters all of Manassa.

He worked at the Imery’s perlite mine in Antonito, Colorado where he drove truck. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many callings through the years. He was very patriotic and loved his country and the flag. He was a member of the Manassa saddle club and loved the Manassa Pioneer Days Celebration. He loved the San Luis Valley and the mountains that surround it. He loved riding horses especially in the mountains. He was a very special man who loved his family very much. He knew a lot of people and never knew a stranger. He always had a smile, a handshake or hugs, and hellos to whoever he came in contact with. He was always willing to help anybody that needed it.

He is survived by his wife Lori and his four children Brandon, Ryan, TJ, Alicia Winters all of Manassa Colorado. His parents Fred and Marilyn Winters of Manassa Colorado. One sister Tanna and Charlie Shawcroft of La Jara Colorado. Two brother-in-law’s Scott and Bobby Morgan of Sanford and a sister-in-law Debbie Cowen of La Jara Colorado and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Carlisle and Barbara Smith, Fred and Eva Winters and His mother and father-in-law Robert and Nancy Morgan.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Manassa LDS Church with interment to follow at the Manassa cemetery. There will be a viewing Monday, November 26, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa and a viewing at the church Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Rogers Family Mortuary of Manassa is in care of arrangements.  To leave online condolences visit Brian’s obituary at www.rogersfunerals.com
