SAN LUIS — San Luis resident Conrad Vernon Sanchez, 66, went to his eternal rest on April 16, 2019 with his loving family by his side.

Conrad was welcomed into the world on Sept. 5, 1952 in Laramie, Wyo., the son of Bonifacio Sanchez and Cleofes Maestas Sanchez. Conrad was a people person, he loved going gambling, cruising, watching sports, fishing, camping and traveling. His greatest joy in life came from the time he was able to spend with his family and friends. Conrad was an avid Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets and Denver Broncos fan. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his daughters, Shannon (Jeff) Chase of Canon City, Colo., Danarie (Lupe) Zubia of Phoenix, Ariz. and Bianca (Jorge) Rivera of Chama, Colo.; son, Bonifacio (Amber) Sanchez of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Raquelle, Stephanie (Brian) Dagnino, Isabella, Abel, Angela, Rocky, Elizabeth, Raven, Christian, Jeremiah, Daren, Devin, Devann and Alex; great-grandchildren, Melanie and James; sister, Diane (Ruben Steve) Montano of Chama, Colo.; brother, Joe Sanchez of Denver, Colo.; and grandmother, Helen Vigil of San Pablo, Colo. He also is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Conrad was preceded in death by his parents, Bonifacio and Cleofes Sanche; and one brother, James Sanchez. 

Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019 from 1-5 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in San Luis. A Rosary will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 7 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in San Luis. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Centennial High School Gymnasium in San Luis. Interment will follow at the Chama Cemetery.
